POTENTIAL USER
GUIDELINE.
Follow these steps to
become an NCF member:
1. Ask your business
manager (industrial) or advisor (academic) to send an
email to
Joshua Sautner(fahmad2@uic.edu),
stating that you wish to become a member. The email
should also be sent to
Vitali Metlushko
(vmetlush@ece.uic.edu) and
Bob Lajos
(Lajos@uic.edu). Please note the length of
time you intend to use the facility, your choices are 1
day, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, or over 3 months. An
account will be established for you and you will be
charged for your access, training, and service fees and
any supplies that you request according to the posted
schedule on the NCF web site.
2. Read the
NCF policy
statement . Send
Bob Lajos
(lajos@uic.edu), the laboratory manager, an email
stating that you agree to those policies. Users who do
not follow the NCF policies usually receive a 2week
suspension of access privileges with no refund of the
NCF access fee.
3. You must pass the
NCF Safety Exam
before you can access the facility. The exam with the
answers is posted on this web site . You can take the
exam Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am and
3pm at your convenience.
4. You must obtain a
university I-Card for building and cleanroom access. The
procedure for obtaining the card will be explained on
your first visit.
5. You must be trained on
all NCF equipment that you wish to use for your project.
Training can be arranged by submitting a training
request form at this web site under
Announcements/Upcoming Trainings.
6. You must keep Bob
Lajos, the NCF laboratory manager informed about your
project, what equipment you will be using, and what
materials you will be bringing inside the NCF.
7. Our facility offers 24 hour access. In order to gain extended access you must
first pass
Online Training Course
and then complete
NCF Extended Access Safety Training.
Ones the access is granted, it is valid for 1 year. |
